Test cards for stamp camp in Laguna, November 30, 2008

These are two cards I made for a Stamp Camp I'll be attending in Laguna Beach on November 30, 2008. I'm still debating which one I will choose. The theme was "holidays".

This card was made using Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Real Red and Whisper White. I embossed the whisper white with my snowflakes embossing folder on my Cuttlebug. I then used a gold cats eye ink and rubbed it over the embossing. Real red ink was used on the edges of the scallop square punched pink pirouette. I embossed the white snow flakes with iridescent ice. Holly is made from a punch I have (non-SU) and the red sequins I picked up from the jewelry section in Joanns. Please excuse the messy green glitter...it was an afterthought when the card was finished (and something I will fix before long!!)! All ribbons are non-SU. The Seasons Greetings is from Merry Messages set. Adorn with gold brads and VUELA!

This card was made from Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. The pattered papers are non-SU as is the ribbon and the bunny stamp. Whisper White was embossed using the polka dots folder on my Cuttlebug. I layered the BB, KK and WW embossed together. I used a sponge and my PP ink pad to distress the embossed dots. Then I laid a BB strip underneath the pattered punched squares. I used my fingernail to distress the edges of the WW and KK that the bunny is on. I colored the bunny and his eggs with my blender pen and SU pastels (love those things!) Photo corner punch is poped. Adorn with silver brads. That SIMPLE!

Cute huh?!? I'm very excited about these two cards. Only problem is...I can only choose one for the camp :(

Stampin' Up! Workshop November 2, 2008

My good friend Danielle hosted a workshop for me at her home. We had 7 girls there in total, 4 of which were "newbies" to Stampin' Up! I featured the new "in colors" on all the cards and tried to keep astray from "traditional" Christmas colors as much as possible. It was a lot of fun and some hard work with this card:

This one took everyone ALMOST 2 hours to complete! Whoops! Kind of underestimated the difficulty of that! hehheheh The wider strips and the snow flakes are embossed with iridescent ice as well as the words "let it" and the "snow" underneath the letters. I used Stickles on the coal, carrot nose and holly. Blender pens were used for the S N and W as well as the "snow" and Mr. Snowman's hat. Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Pacifc Point were the colors used. "Big On Christmas" is the set used for this stamp.

I designed the next card with simplicity and "mass production" in mind. I wanted to be sure to offer a card that might inspire my attendees to make serveral in repeat or to purchase the products to send out their own Christmas cards. Colors, of course, could always be adjusted to suit someone's preference.

"Snow Swirled" stamp set was used here. Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango were the in colors used. I used my glitter gel pen to accent the "Seasons Greetings" and the Christmas tree.

This next card was the favorite of the workshop! I must say it was my favorite too! It's the joy fold card, like the birthday one we did two months back, but with Christmas theme this time!

Bella Rose is the designer series paper used. Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip (the only non-in color used), Tangerine Tango and Riding Hood Red were used for the colors. The stamp set is "Season of Joy", my FAVORITE of the Christmas stamps from the fall/winter catalog this year. Glitter gel pen was used again as accents on the card. The best part about this card: it looks so difficult but is sooooo easy to put together! You can find instructions here on Splitcoaststampers.com.

Thanks again for another fun workshop ladies! Hope to see you and some more newbies at the next one! Thanks for lookin'!

Garland for Baylee

Here is a garland I made for my friend's baby boy, Baylee. I got the garland idea from my friend and upline Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Heather. You can check out her blog here. She's very creative and the one that "sucked"* me into being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! *I use this term in a VERY good way! LOL

My new mommy friend used a safari theme for her nursery. I found a cute safari stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs that I HAD to have. So I used that for her garland. The die cuts are quick cuts. I was actually too lazy to cut my own, so for a time saver, I ordered these off eBay from my favorite die cut seller wehrlyzoo. You can find her eBay store here. She has an awesome assortment of die cuts and is so super sweet. Plus she can pretty much make anything you can think of: she has a wide assortment that she doesn't have posted. If you ask nicely, she's willing to go the extra mile and make something that isn't posted in her store. And they're very reasonably priced. The jungle leaves are from a die cut machine at a local favorite scrapbook store as well as the paper for them. Had to buy their paper to use their machine...and I have no idea what the machine is called. I used SU's Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue for the colors on the backdrop as well as lower simon chipboard from last year's SU catalog (retired). Chocolate Chip was used on the chipboard letters and applied simply using a dauber, a fantastic tool if you haven't used any yet. Barely Banana is also used for the squares on the "a" and the "e". Whisper white was also used.

Thanks for lookin'!

Baby Boy Cards

Baby Girl Card

This is a card I made for my friend who is (was) expecting a baby boy! The onesie is popped.

Fun with limited supplies

This is a graduation card I made using supplies from my stock. The stamps are Stampin' Up! The paper and punches are a hodgepodge of what I had :)

CD Album #2

This is a CD Album that I "kitted" for a friend; she put it all together. I was impressed how it all came out! It uses the "Bali Breeze" paper from Stampin' Up!'s spring/summer 2008 catalog with Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie accents :D (the flower on the front cover is not SU). I may just have to make me one after all!

CD Albums

Here is a CD Album I made (all non-Stampin' Up!). I made this for a friend of mine who's sister was having a baby boy!

September 13th Workshop

These are the cards we made for the September 13th workshop. This workshop featured all new techniques to my group of girls (some of them even I hadn't done before!) and we used the "Crazy for Cupcakes" set.

This is the "Stand Alone Pop Up Card"

This card is held closed by magnets!
This card featured the coffee filter effect. The tye-died square in the background is a coffee filter! Also this card closes like a match book :)

This is the joy fold card. So fun and easy to do, but such a GREAT impact, I think!
Below is the Date Book we made. It's handy for keeping all those birthdates and anniversaries straight! It features the "Washington Apple" designer series paper from Stampin' Up!'s fall/winter 2008 catalog.

Much Appreciated

This is a card I did for a Stamp Camp Swap with SuzieQ (www.suzieqpapercrafts.com) in Laguna Niguel, CA on August 23, 2008. This card has a lot of cutting, but I think the finished product is so worth it! I featured the Stitched Exotics stamp set and I used the same colors as the Summer Fun envelope book! (Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Read and '08 in color Wild Wasabi)
